Preface
The following content stipulate the conditions and guidelines relating to the assessment for various levels of accreditation and badges awards.
Assessors are strongly recommended to follow the assessment procedure and observe correct technique of swimmers at all times.
Assessors should ensure that an award should not be lowered to permit candidates to gain a success for which they are not properly prepared.
Objectives
To develop a comprehensive 'Learn to Swim' program detailing the following three scopes :-
1.1. A program syllabus, detailing the teaching points and course outcome at each level to be acquired by the learner swimmer, to be deemed competent.
1.2. A badge skill system, awarded to the learner, after attaining skills at each level.
1.3. An advance system to be awarded to skilled swimmers for progression to competitive swimming training, water polo or synchronized swimming sports.
Proposal
This proposal outlines the skills progression syllabus for a child about 5 years to 12 years of age i.e. from total beginner stage to age group swimmer skills. This proposal also includes skills (under the advance award section) where swimmers can progress to either competitive swimming training, water polo and/or synchronized training.
Pupils progress through six (6) levels - Tortoise, Octopus, Starfish, Penguin, Bear and Dolphin. On completion of Level 6, swimmer will be able to:

Candidates who passes the above test level will be awarded a certificate issued by Amateur Swimming Union of Malaysia. Candidates ought to pass each level before progressing to the next level
A specially designed jacket can be purchase by the candidate after passing Level Three (Starfish). All the three levels badges are to be sewn onto the jacket.
